Bay Cup ’12-’13 Season Results Update

The 2012-2013 Bay Cup Season is here and EBFG fencers are already scoring top finishes! Congrats and thanks for all the hard work! Here’s an update of results from this season:

Bay Cup CHXE, CLXE Results

EBFG fencer’s dominated today’s senior Épée Bay Cup finale, taking home the gold medal in both events and filling up the top eight in the CHXE event! Congratulations to all EBFG fencers for their outstanding work all season in the senior epee Bay Cup series.

Mehmet Tepedelenlioglu fought back to secure his gold medal against EBFG teammate Kyle Yamasaki in a thrilling 15-14 match at the climax of the senior C and higher mixed Épée event. Phil Gerring joined them on the podium taking home the bronze medal and make it an EBFG hatrick! Also finishing in the top eight, Andrew Brewer took seventh and Orestis Herodotou finished eight.

Also winning a gold medal for East Bay today was Ben Mankin in the senior C and Lower mixed Épée event, also earning a shiny new C12 rating for himself in the process!

Bay Cup JME5, Y12XE4, Y14ME5, CLXE5 Results

The bay cup continued this weekend at CFA in San Jose, CA with strong results for East Bay’s youth men’s team!

Atahan Kiliccote took home his second consecutive gold medal in the Y12 mixed Épée event and also finished in 3rd place in the Y14 Men’s Épée event. Julien Sat-Vollhardt made it to the final round and placed 2nd in the Y14 Men’s Épée event, with teammate Sam Rao taking 5th.

Sam Rao bounced back to win gold in the Junior Men’s Épée event after defeating Haydon Norby of CFA, earning his D’12 rating and wining his first tournament! Matthias Philippine and Thibault Philippine finished 5th and 6th respectively.

The top EBFG finisher in the CLXE event was Andy Davis, who placed 9th. Thanks to all EBFG fencers for their hard work!

Bay Cup @ EGF: CLXE Results

Several EBFG fencers competed in last weekend’s Senior C and Lower Mixed Épée event at En Guard Fencing in Santa Rosa, CA. Out of 52 fencers, top EBFG finishers were David King 9th, Patrick Wang 10th, and Sam Rao 11th. Thanks to all EBFG fencers who participated and keep up the good results!

Thanks to all East Bay fencers who participated in last weekend’s Bay Cup event in San Francisco!

EBFG’s Julien Sat-Vollhardt took gold in the Youth 14 Men’s Épée event! Congratulations on your victory Julien!

In the C and Lower Mixed Épée event, Andrew Davis finished 7th out of 46.

Also thanks to all of our youth Épée fencers for fencing hard in their first tournament of the season! Keep up the hard work guys!

BayCup CHXE6 + CLXE6 Results

Congratulations to all EBFG fencers for their dedication, hard work and excellent results at last weekend’s final Bay Cup senior epee events!

It was an all East Bay podium for the senior C and higher mixed epee. Keith Lichten took first after winning 15-14 in another dramatic bout versus teammate Mehmet Tepedelenlioglu. Kyle Yamasaki and Thibault Philippine tied for third. Orestis Herodotou placed sixth.

Cameron Parker won the senior C and lower mixed epee event, earning his B 2011 rating, after beating David Johnson of TFC in the final. Orestis Herodotou and Matthias Philippine tied for third. Steven Fialkowski took fifth and earned a D rating, Patrick Wang placed sixth and Brandon Li placed seventh. Julien Sat-Vollhardt finished 9th, earning his E rating.

BayCup CHXE5 + CLXE5

Congratulations to all the EBFG fencer’s for their continuing efforts and amazing results in this season’s Bay Cup Events!

EBFG dominated the senior C and higher mixed Épée event at last weekend’s tournament at The Fencing Center in San Jose. Keith Lichten placed first after an intense bout with fellow EBFG fencer Mehmet Tepedelenlioglu. Matthias Philippine placed third, earning his B rating and Elani Ferri placed sixth.

Matthias Philippine also took gold in the C and lower mixed Épée event.

Bay Cup Results – CHXE4, CLXE4, Y14ME

Maitre Habek congratulates all EBFG fencers for their outstanding hard work and great results at last weekend’s Bay Cup events at MFA and UCB!

At MFA, Mehmet Tepedelenlioglu placed first in the C and Higher Mixed Épée (CHXE4) event, and Matthias Philippine placed first in the C and Lower Mixed Épée (CLXE4) event.

Brandon Li earned his D rating and tied for third with Orestis Herodotou in the C and Lower Mixed Épée (CLXE4) event. Orestis Herodotou also placed third in the C and Higher Mixed Épée (CHXE4) event.
