EBFG dominated the senior C and higher mixed Épée event at last weekend’s tournament at The Fencing Center in San Jose. Keith Lichten placed first after an intense bout with fellow EBFG fencer Mehmet Tepedelenlioglu. Matthias Philippine placed third, earning his B rating and Elani Ferri placed sixth.
Matthias Philippine also took gold in the C and lower mixed Épée event.
Congratulations to the EBFG men’s Epee team for bringing the coveted Pacific Coast Championships (PCC) trophy back to the east bay! Fencers Keith Lichten, Mehmet
Tepedelenlioglu and Nathaniel Burke beat GGFC in the final bout, winning 45-35, once again making EBFG the Pacific Coast Champions!
EBFG’s B epee team placed 5th overall (Kyle Yamasaki, Phil Gerring, Andrew Davis), and EBFG’s youth epee team placed 7th (Andrew Brewer, Elani Ferri, Matthias Philippine, Thibault Philippine)
In the Veterans Epee event Phil Gerring placed 3rd , and John McGrew placed 8th.
EBFG fencer Elani Ferri also placed 8th in the senior men’s individual epee event.

EBFG’s men’s epee team took 2nd place in the DIV I Senior Men’s team event. Congrats to Keith Lichten, Rob Rhea and Nat Burke for their outstanding performance!

Keith Lichten won the event and renewed is A rating for 2011. Mehmet Tepedelenlioglu took the silver medal and Kyle Yamasaki placed third. Thanks for your hard work team!
