EBFG will be hosting  youth foil and epee summer camps for young fencers to improve their skills, meet new people and have fun fencing! All levels Welcome! Whether you’re learning to fence for the first time or training for Summer Nationals.

***Camp offers Training for Summer Nationals !! 

Camp will take place at EBFG in downtown Oakland. From 9:00 am-1:30 pm. Early drop of starts at 8:30 am.  No experience necessary. All fencing equipment is provided. Participants need to wear full legged exercise pants, tennis shoes. Bring water bottle, T-shirt to change and personal lunch.

 Session 1  June 16-20, 2025 

 Session 2  July 14-18, 2025

 Session 3  July 28-1 Aug, 2025

USFA Requirement

Prior to the camp every camper must register for USA Fencing Association Membership and bring a printed copy of your trial membership form to the first day of camp or email us your copy.

To register, go to the USA Fencing website and fill out the Trial Membership Form. Choose Northern California Division and East Bay Fencers Gym as a club.

Please fill this out and print a copy prior to camp, but don’t fill it out too early because it expires after 90 days.

EBFG had two teams! EBFG had an awesome showing at this NAC! EBFG Fencers had awesome results across Vet Epee Events! Congrats to Kyle Yamasaki for finishing 6th and Paul Chandler for finishing 14th in Vet 40 Men’s Epee! Congrats to Keith Lichten for finishing 6th, Justin Hunter for finishing 23rd! And Matt Maychrowitz for finishing 29th  in Vet 50 Men’s Epee! Congrats to Mike Lipton for finishing 16th! And Gerard for finishing 22nd in Vet 60 Men’s Epee! Congrats to Gerard Downey for finishing 31st in Vet Men’s Epee!

We also want to highlight our Women’s Epee Fencers! Congratulations to Julia Aires, Matea Chiou-Williams, and Sophia Habek for travel and participating in Cadet WE and Div1 WE!  Sophia was the youngest participant in Div1 WE.

East Bay Fencers Gym had a great showing at this year’s summer nationals in Phoenix.

19 East Bay Fencers fenced in 39 events at the Nationals and brought home 4 Medals!

Our youngest Sophia Habek became the 2023 National Champion in Y-10 Women’s Epee!

But Sophia was not the only East Bay Fencer with a visit to the podium, Mehmet Tepedelenlioglu won a bronze medal in Vet-50 Men’s Epee, Barry Leonardini  finished 5th in Vet-80 Men’s and Allen Graham finished 8th in Vet-40 Men’s Epee.
